And as her children grow, she wants to spend time with them first.
“My highest core value is family,” Ivanka continued. “And my kids were a lot younger, so it was easier not to be present. But when you have children who are teenagers, on the verge of becoming teenagers, your physical presence means so much.”
That said, after working with her father during his first term, it confirmed that while she enjoyed “politics and impact,” it confirmed that politics was not the space for her.
“There’s a darkness in this world that I don’t really want to welcome into mine,” she noted. “To some extent, I am at the center of the storm because my father is about to become president. It's a very dark negative. And some people like the gladiator aspect, you know, the fighting which, that's never been me.”
