Jason has his own agency with his twin brother Brett Oppenheimexplaining his new pro bono mission in more detail in the uploaded video.
“I woke up this morning to many friends and clients contacting me because they lost their homes in the last couple of days and they need help with housing now,” Jason said. “Their families have been displaced and of course as real estate agents we have a responsibility to help them find a place – even if it's going to be difficult because thousands of people (are) looking for places and (there are) not nearly as many houses available.”
He also encouraged all realtors in the city to “come together and work hard for society“.
“This is our time to give back,” the Netflix personality said. “Thank you, everyone be safe.”
Several Jason employees echoed their willingness to help in the comments section, including Alexandra Jarvis, Davina Potratz, Mary Fitzgerald Bonet, Polly Brindle and Krishel Stause.

On Tuesday, January 7, a series of wildfires broke out in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood and the surrounding Los Angeles area, causing massive damage. At the time of publication, 11 people have died as the fires have burned more than 37,000 acres of land. In addition, more than 12,000 structures have reportedly been destroyed, and tens of thousands of residents have been forced from their homes under mandatory or voluntary evacuation orders.
As the wildfires continue to rage through the Los Angeles area, many victims are beginning to figure out their next steps. Jason in turn lamented future real estate battles he faced on Friday, January 10.
“I've been searching the MLS (directory) trying to help families displaced by the fires find rental properties,” he said in an Instagram Story video. “I see dozens of examples of people trying to do things like this when they can't come up with $9,500 or even $9,000 and then yesterday increase the rent by over 30 percent to $12,000.”
While Jason noted that he's “all about free market capitalism,” he argued that it's currently “blatantly exploiting” natural disaster. Stause, 43, agreed with her boss, whom she previously met in 2021.
“This is disgusting,” Stause wrote on his Instagram Stories. “Other realtors who have a moral compass will report to the board.”
