Dr. Bill's advice ignored
Jennifer discovered that her husband, Dr. Bill Eidinadvised her not to post the video, but she ignored his advice. “Bill is not happy about it,” Jennifer admitted, describing her husband as “the least confrontational person.”
Despite part of the incident, Dr. Bill felt no need to share the situation with Jennifer's Instagram followers. “When I returned to our group, everyone was so disgusted by the behavior ( Jersey Mike employees and customers) Jennifer reminded. Feeling justified in her frustration, she decided to post the video, thinking, “I'll just post it so everyone can see their bad behavior.”
However, the decision “backfired”, how Jennifer admitted. “Listen to the man, ladies! Husbands know best,” she joked.
Incident revisited
The drama unfolded on New Year's Day at the airport Jersey Mike how Jennifer and her family was preparing for an early flight to Aruba. Frustrated by what she described as rude behavior from both staff and customers, Jennifer began recording his experiences, prompting a backlash from viewers and social media critics alike.
Jennifer explained that she waited in line for what seemed like forever and was upset when another customer who ordered after her got her food first. She directed her frustration at an elderly employee, commenting on the slow service and their hearing problems.
“That 80-year-old woman working there, the time she spent cutting the bread was almost as long as we waited in that line. Jeez,” she said in the video.
Jennifer admitted to adding another sandwich to her order during the process, prompting the employee to tell her to “wait in line again.” She then turned to the customer behind her and he asked if she could add the item. The man's dismissive response prompted Jennifer to start filming, further escalating the situation.
The client, a law professor, allegedly threatened to sue Jennifer if she posted the video online. “My husband is a doctor, okay?” she shot back. “A-hole. And all my st is real. I'm an amazing celebrity, you're an a-hole!”
Jennifer later admitted his outburst and apologized for referring to the employee's age. “I never should have called a woman old or anything. I was just sad that she was working,” she said, adding: “She was so rude afterwards. She said, 'I'm not going to give you your sandwich!'
Fallout and lessons learned
The controversy led to Jennifer being pulled from the *Fans at Sea* Housewives cruise where she was scheduled to join cast mates Teresa Giudice and Dolores Catania in September. The cruise line released a statement explaining their decision “to make the cruise enjoyable and welcoming for all guests.”
Jennifer accepted their decision, saying, “At the end of the day, I couldn't expect them to react to something I did. If it's one thing, I'm a very rational, sensible person, okay? i understand I did it.”
Reflecting on the situation, Jennifer admitted that she had underestimated the backlash. “I thought I'd shine a light on this gentleman's bad behavior and maybe get an apology from Jersey Mike's for being so rude and dismissive. But no, I don't want that anymore! … I'm sorry for the whole mess. I really, really like it, I really am. It wasn't worth it.”
Moving forward
Jennifer now says she's vowed to be more careful about what she shares publicly. “I have to make sure I'm very careful with what I post. It will be a huge lesson for me,” she said.
“If I had it to do over again, I would take my complaints to my podcast or Yelp,” she added, promising that her social media presence would be more positive in the future.
Despite the backlash, Jennifer remains determined to learn from the experience and regain its footing in the public eye.
