John Amos died in August, but by then his son Kelly Christopher announced his death, more than a month had passed. Since then, the actor's daughter, Shannon Amoshas launched an investigation into his death and hired a lawyer to lead her fight.

Shannon's attorney, James H. Davis III, confirmed that she has hired legal counsel to investigate her father's death. PEOPLE. For what appeared to be a second time, she accused her brother of elder abuse. Shannon reportedly wants more information about her father's admission to Centennial Hospital and his condition at the time. She claimed that someone impersonating her took John to the hospital. Shannon claims she has requested his medical records in three official requests but has received no response.

In addition, she wants the LAPD and Adult Protective Services to provide summaries of their investigation into her past allegations of abuse involving John Amos.

Meanwhile, Kelly Christopher doesn't hesitate to shut down her sister's claims with her receipt! He gave an explanation PEOPLE of decisions made before the death of John Amos. He claimed that John asked to go to Centinel Hospital because he trusted its medical staff. Additionally, he said his dad asked him not to contact other family members, and KC said he “gave him his request.”

“Let me be clear and transparent. There was no physical, financial, emotional or psychological elder abuse or neglect against my father by me, Gene Brummett or Belinda Foster,” KC said. “This was documented in an independent investigation by Homeland Security Services, Inc, Adult Protective Services and other law enforcement agencies. The reality is that he died of natural causes at the age of 84. Stop making it more than what it is.

Kelly also hired a defense investigator to conduct a “comprehensive two-year investigation” into financial irregularities, including missing money and material goods stolen from his father in Colorado, Memphis, New Jersey and Los Angeles. In the end, investigator Kevin Faller said all charges against Kelly Christopher in New Jersey have been dismissed.

“The current allegations of foul play and elder abuse are frivolous,” said Kevin Faller. “John Amos was a joy to work with and spend time with (KC, Gene and Belinda), writing, creating and praying with them as a family and as his team. John died of natural causes at the age of 84. There was no lack of play.”

Faller also cleared John Amos' longtime manager, Belinda Foster, of any wrongdoing. “John told me that Belinda was more of a daughter to him than his own biological daughter.” the investigator told PEOPLE.

The daughter previously questioned the safety of John Amos

Shannon Amos' death comes more than a year after she claimed her father was a victim of elder abuse and financial exploitation and was hospitalized in critical condition. She made the accusations on the GoFundMe campaign, claiming that John called her from a hospital in Memphis. Shannon did not specify who carried out the alleged abuse, but said one of the individuals was a caregiver. Her GoFundMe campaign sought $500,000 for possible legal expenses, care and aftercare.

But John Amos later denied his daughter's claims of abuse in a video message from his hospital bed. The actor cited confusion about fundraising. He also seemed to suggest that if anyone bullied him, it would be Shannon. He said they had problems that led to his hospitalization, saying his daughter was abusing him.

“She would be a prime suspect if you did,” John said. “I don't know if that's the right term to use. But she's the one I would attribute my elder abuse to. It's definitely a case of elder abuse.

Additionally, his manager, Belinda, said his hospitalization was due to heart problems caused by fluid filling his lower body and abdomen. However, they both denied that his medical scare was life-threatening.

Shannon Amos has not publicly responded to her brother's response to her inquiry.
