Does it end with us?
Rather…it's just departure between them.
As you may have already read, Blake Lively accused Justin Baldoni last month of sexual harassment on the set of her recent hit film; claiming that his co-star created a hostile work environment on the set of the film and subsequently participated in a smear campaign against his colleague.
And now Baldoni has fought back.
The 40-year-old's lawyers filed a $400 million lawsuit in the Southern District of New York on Jan. 16 on behalf of Baldoni, producer Jamey Heath, publicist Jennifer Abel and crisis reporter Melissa Nathan.
Baldoni Files Lawsuit Over Allegations of Civil Extortion…Defamation…Invasion of Privacy by False Light…Breach of Implied Covenant of Good Faith and Fair Dealing…Intentional Interference in contractual relationships… intentional interference with a potential economic advantage… and negligent interference with a potential economic advantage .
The actor also directed It Ends With Us.
He says in the documents that Lively was “determined to make Baldoni the true villain of her story” and “falsified the stories” of his sexual harassment, noting that the Gossip Girl alum's damaged reputation after that film's release was “of his own creation”, and NOT a smear campaign, as her States of the trial.
Baldoni cites “disastrous errors of judgment” made by Lively, who served as a producer on the film and is said to have determined the final cut of the film.
“Lively, in conjunction with her husband, her publicist, and Jones, among others, embarked on a campaign to tar and feather Plaintiffs in the press,” the lawsuit reads.
“They conspired and worked with the New York Times to publish a blockbuster report that was as devastating as it was false.”
Lively, of course, is married to Ryan Reynolds.
The lawsuit even documents a meeting at Lively and Reynolds' New York apartment some time ago, during which Taylor Swift came to applaud a rewrite Lively did of a scene from the film.
Baldoni's filing further claims that Lively “set out to destroy plaintiffs' livelihoods and businesses if they did not comply with her relentless demands, and when they refused to give in, that's exactly what she did.” she did, accusing them of reprehensible sexual misconduct.”
Elsewhere in the lawsuit, Baldoni alleges that Lively “had a reputation for being difficult to work with” and “almost immediately” began “inserting herself into the production process in an intrusive manner well beyond the scope of her rights contractual”.
This included examples of Lively's control over her character's wardrobe and rewriting scripts.
Baldoni's lawyer previously denied the allegations against his client.
These claims include how Baldoni caused Lively “serious emotional distress” due to his behavior on set… which included “showing Blake videos or images of naked women,” as well as a discussion about Baldoni’s “pornography addiction” or past “sexual conquests.” .”
In a new statement, the aforementioned lawyer states:
“This lawsuit is a legal action based on an overwhelming amount of unfalsified evidence detailing Blake Lively and her team's disingenuous attempt to destroy Justin Baldoni, his team, and their respective companies by releasing grossly altered, unsubstantiated information to the media. , new and falsified.
“It is clear, given our complete willingness to provide all text messages, emails, video footage and other documentary evidence shared between the parties in real time, that this is a battle she will not win and that she will certainly regret.
“Blake Lively was either seriously misled by his team or intentionally and knowingly misrepresented the truth.”
This last message concludes:
Let us not forget that Ms. Lively and her team attempted to destroy reputations and livelihoods for heinous and selfish reasons, by dangerously manipulating the media themselves, before even taking any legal action.
We know the truth, and now so does the public.
Justin and his team have nothing to hide, the documents don't lie.
