Karen Huger heads to rehab after drunk driving conviction

Karen Huger is seeking help for her drinking problems, so much so that she missed the taping of the #RHOP reunion.

On Thursday, the Grand Dame manager released an exclusive statement to Bravo's daily dish confirming that she entered rehab amid her drunk driving conviction.

“Karen made the important decision to enter a private recovery program and therefore was unable to attend the reunion taping today,” Ryan Tresdale said. “She was fully supported in this choice. We support Karen as she embarks on this meaningful journey and are proud of her for taking such an important step in her personal development.

As previously reported, Huger was convicted on multiple counts after charges related to driving under the influence were filed in Maryland in March. Explosive body camera footage of her arrest was later released, showing her visibly swaying, slurring her words and referring to herself as “Thomas Jefferson's concubine.”

Although the reality star is in rehab, her lawyer previously pledged to appeal with the intention of “pursuing full justice on her behalf.”

Karen's trial began on Tuesday, December 17 and concluded after two days. She is scheduled to be sentenced on January 29, 2025.

This news comes after rumors swirled that Karen Huger's future on Bravo was in jeopardy. Citing sources, Page six reported that while producers have yet to make any official changes, Karen would need to prove herself to protect her position in the Potomac.

“She would need to clean up her act (for Bravo) to move forward with her,” the source told the outlet about a potential return for The Real Housewives of Potomac season 10.
