Written and directed by Damn rap! from alums Syreeta Singleton and Lawrence Lamont, the buzzy film features an all-star cast including Maude Apatow, Lil Rel Howery, Janelle James and Katt Williams, while marking a historic collaboration between Issa Rae's HOORAE production company and various creatives powered by Sony Pictures. “Growing up, I definitely didn't see the people I see now,” Palmer said in a interview with rolling stone. “It’s not like now, like with Issa Rae, Kevin Hart, Jordan Peele or Donald Glover. “People like Jordan have helped me in different ways, from trusting me as an actor, to just giving me an opportunity. Knowing what my journey has been, I don't want the conversation to continually be 'You're the first.” It shouldn’t be a surprise when you see black people out here killing it.
