According to News 5 ClevelandMeuti was found dead outside Warrensville Care and Rehabilitation Center Avenue around 7:30 a.m. Christmas Eve. According to Warrensville Heights Police, Meuti was last allegedly seen by facility staff on Dec. 23 at 8:40 p.m.
The nurse who last saw Meuti told police the 84-year-old “seemed normal and was talking in his wheelchair.”
It was then reported that the second was assigned to Meuti. However, around 9:30 p.m., a nurse discovered that the 84-year-old woman was “not in her room.”
The second nurse reportedly assumed that Meuti had gone to visit her brother. However, there was no record of Meuti's brother picking him up in the facility's visitor log. In addition, the second nurse allegedly did not inform other staff of the 84-year-old woman's absence.

Around 12:30 p.m., the nurse is said to have been Meuti's brother several times. However, he did not answer.
“…she is a new nurse…and wasn't sure what to do next,” the police report said. News 5 Cleveland.
Around 6:30 a.m., the nurse finally notified another staff member of Meuti's disappearance. A “code violet” was then issued, a sweep of the building was conducted and the police were notified. When police arrived at 7:30 a.m., nurses reportedly found Meuti “lying on his back” outside the facility.
The cause of death for the 84-year-old man is listed as “environmental exposure with hypothermia,” according to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner. Police are reportedly investigating Meuti's death and how she ended up outside the facility despite needing help to walk.
