Legends trailer could tell the ending of Cobra Kai

We've yet to get off the carpet one last time with Cobra Kai, and we've already gotten our first look at the upcoming expansion of the Karate Kid universe with The Karate Kid: Legends trailer. The new film, set for release in 2025, will see both the original Karate Kid and Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) for the first time alongside Jackie Chan's Mr. Han from the 2010 film. Together, they will impart some words of wisdom to brand new martial arts prodigy Li Fong (newcomer Ben Wang). But with a new kid on the karate chopping block, does anything we've seen so far hint at the eagerly awaited Cobra Kai finale and Danny's maturing relationship with his badass Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka)?

While it may not be a surprise that the original Karate Kid will appear in Legends, it does at least confirm that he is making it out of Kobra Kai alive. A year ago, it might have been something neat if it hadn't been Kwon's shocking death in “Cobra Kai” Season 6 Episode 2, suggests that between now and its end, anyone could be killed. But maybe we shouldn't be focusing on who's moving from a beloved show to an upcoming movie when it could be the other way around.

So far, what we know about “The Karate Kid: Legends” is that Mr. Myagi's (Pat Morita) former friends Han and LaRusso are working together, but could that union begin with the former visiting the latter? from “Cobra Kai?” Like Nick Fury from The Karate Kid universe, there's a chance Jackie Chan's character, who hasn't been seen in 14 years, will show up at the LaRusso family to ask him for a favor. (even though Macchio himself doubted the cameo would work). Maybe even the next Karate Kid (no, not Hilary Swank) could directly ask for advice. For fans of “Cobra Kai” who didn't want the next chapter, this will definitely provide enough of a tease to keep them excited and smoothly divert attention away from the people of All Valley and their love of karate.

There's also no confirmation in the preview about how things ended for LaRusso and his class. After all, they probably won't leave Sekai Taika as the victors, which could give Danny the incentive to train another karate kid with the same inherent hunger to be the best. For now, we'll have to wait and see when Netflix makes its final debut with “Cobra Kai” on February 13th, and “The Karate Kid: Legends” hits theaters on May 30th.
