Slimming star Lil Rel Howery has been heading to Hollywood events with a puffed-out chest and is the latest celebrity to lose a staggering amount of weight in a seemingly short space of time.

You may remember the To go out The actor went viral after showing off his incredibly svelte physique on Harold and the Purple Pencil premiered last summer.

Naturally, some messy wretches accused him of using the popular weight loss drug Ozempic to lose weight, prompting the comedian to respond with a lengthy message of appreciation to himself, followed by a separate video on Instagram.

“I'm on Godzempic, Happyzempic, Hardworkzempic, PurposeZempic and I'm just planning Truthzempic,” he captioned the video. “I am grateful and happy to have said yes to God’s mission on my life and to my friends still here and gone who have kept it 100 with me…”

Fast forward to 2025, where the reserved and busy actor kicked off the year by revealing the secrets of his weight loss transformation in an interview with Men's Health Magazine.

Reflecting on his personal development journey, Rel attributed his impressive results to therapy, boxing training and his daily exercise ritual.

“I wasn't just training, I was letting things go,” he said of his early efforts with a Peloton and Gospel playlist. “It’s not the airy gospel playlist I’m playing. I play Reverend James Cleveland, Reverend Milton Brunson. I remember being tired on the bike. I was like, “Okay, what’s my motivation? That's when I started having my conversations with God, manifesting my ideas.

Howery also revealed that quitting drinking was a major catalyst for his weight loss.

“I kept trying to find easier versions…if I cut back, if I don’t do this, I do that,” he admitted with a laugh. “As soon as I stopped drinking, I saw this six-pack start to appear,” he joked, adding, “Turns out all these years I was blaming my 40s, it It was just the drinks.”
