“It wasn't in the first draft of the script, but it was in the second draft. I just thought it was a really nice nod,” Bialik, 49, told Exclusive Us Weekly for how Night court found her way and Rauch, 44, to mention The big bang theory.
On the Tuesday, Jan. 14, episode of the NBC series, Bialik played an exaggerated version of herself and mentioned her past sitcom roles in conversation with Rauch's character Abby.
“You know, I've actually done a lot of other things Blooms. Call me Kat and The big bang theory,” said Bialik.

Rauch replied, “You were in it? I only remember the girl with the high voice. She was great.”
Bialik was thrilled with the cheeky approach to her on-screen reunion with Rauch. “That's hopefully part of the fun of comedy and the fun of being in that room where everything happens,” she added. “That's the fun of comedy.”
Duet shared the screen Night court after initially being a costar The big bang theory. The CBS sitcom, which aired from 2007 to 2019, starred Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, Kunal NayyarBialik and Rauch as a group of friends made up of scientists and their significant others.
After The big bang theory ended, Bialik reunited with Parsons, 51 episode Young Sheldon and has now done the same to Rauch.
“When I think about how long it's been The big bang theory ended, this was a case where it didn't seem like long had passed. Because we worked together for almost ten years, and you learn a lot about a person's rhythms and a lot about his aspirations as a comedian,” says the actress. “So I know how her brain works and she knows how my brain works. We had to create fun and do reaction shots that maybe weren't in the script. Those are things that she and I are used to doing together. it's playful in a way.”
Bialik continued, “I know acting is a job, but it's also a craft. Like when you think about what it's like to be in a school play, it's kind of like that. There are just a lot of cameras. So you have that sense of play and creativity going on. it's definitely easy for us because we've been doing it together for so long.
Night court also reunited Bialik with John Larroquette after they were costars switched on The John Larroquette Show in the 90s.

“It was really wonderful to work with John again. But there's also a certain amount of—I don't want to say pressure—but I put pressure on myself because I want to be professional. I work on Call me Kat three years, but I'm not working on regular comedy right now,” she noted. “It's a bit of wanting to be on my best comedian behavior and making sure I don't forget my lines.”
Bialik said there was a “definite amount of fear” in the show, noting: “If I mess up my line, I don't want John to think I'm unprofessional, which he probably wouldn't. There's definitely a bit of that in there. … It was just a great ensemble to be a part of, and that's what I missed when I'm part of a group of people that do comedy that way.
New series Night court on NBC Tuesdays at 8:30 PM ET and can be streamed on Peacock the following day.
