For months, rumors about a possible divorce between Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been circulating non-stop on social networks.
Most of these reports are based solely on the fact that Meghan was spotted without her wedding ring.
For the most part, Meghan and Harry have chosen to ignore the rumors and hope they will simply go away.
But if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were eager to put 2025 divorce rumors to rest, they probably aren't too happy with how this year has started.
Meghan Markle accused of buying 'post-divorce' memoirs
As we previously reported, the couple was recently the subject of a scathing new report from Vanity Fair.
The article examined Harry and Meghan's career setbacks and, of course, it touched on the rumors surrounding their marriage.
The most controversial passage concerned a book idea that Meghan purchased from an anonymous publisher.
“Meghan's team had a conversation with a publishing house to gauge interest in the potential book idea. The concept, for which there was no written or formal proposal, was post-divorce,” journalist Anna Peele writes in the article.
“Not a general book about life after marital dissolution, nor about Meghan's past experience. (She was married to producer Trevor Engelson from 2011 to 2014.) This book – this notion of a book, in fact – could center around a post-Harry divorce.
Peele notes that there is no reason to believe that Meghan (or any ghostwriter) actually started work on such a book:
“If this a priori divorce were to take place, would this publisher theoretically be interested in a book which would have taken place in the aftermath? No offer was ever made and no manuscript was produced. After all: there was no divorce,” she wrote.
She also cites a source who denies this story entirely, saying: “If this were true to some extent, she would have been approached and not the other way around.” »
What's really going on with Harry and Meghan's wedding?
Elsewhere in the article, Peele cites sources who say Harry and Meghan couldn't be happier in their marriage.
“They are so hot for each other,” said a source who “has worked closely with the couple.”
“Like, you know how you meet these couples you're in, the way they look at each other, I probably shouldn't be here right now?
Needless to say, it doesn't look like Meghan and Harry will be heading to divorce court anytime soon.
But you can be sure that the rumor will continue to circulate regardless.
