Meghan's father says he's moving to Asia to avoid 'horrible drama' involving his daughter

Thomas Markle has made the headlines of many tabloid newspapers in recent years.

And now, ironically, Meghan Markle's controversial father says he's moving halfway around the world in order to escape the “drama” in his life.

Yes, the “drama” Thomas is talking about is almost entirely self-created, but it seems like he would rather flee the hemisphere than just stop talking to the press.

Thomas Markle reveals plans to move to Southeast Asia

In a new interview (this guy loves talking to the press), Thomas revealed his plans to abandon his home in Rosarito, Mexico, in order to make a “fresh start.”

“I'm ready for a change,” he told the Daily Mail. “I've been feeling stuck in a rut for a while and I'm ready to meet new people and experience kindness.”

Thomas said he has not chosen a specific location, but intends to establish himself in Southeast Asia.

“I traveled to this part of the world when I was younger. The people are very kind and welcoming and respectful towards the elderly. It is a place of culture and beauty,” he said.

“I don’t know where I’m going to end up, but it’s time to leave and find a place where I can live among kind people and enjoy the time I have left.”

Thomas' strained relationship with Meghan

There was a time when Thomas publicly begged Meghan to introduce him to her grandchildren. But it seems he has now accepted the fact that his estrangement from his daughter won't end any time soon.

“Most of the time I just want peace. At 80, none of us know how much time we have left,” he explained.

“I want, whatever time I have, to be at peace without the terrible tragedies of recent years.”

THE Email notes that Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, never visited Thomas in Rosarito.

Thomas suffered a stroke in 2022, but it seems that incident did not soften Meghan's feelings towards her father.

This isn't terribly surprising, since Thomas has made a career out of bashing Meghan in the press.

Along with his other daughter, Samantha Markle, Thomas has given numerous interviews in which he accuses Meghan of destroying his own family.

So Meg probably isn't very heartbroken by the news that her father will soon be living far away.
