Ryan Reynolds opens up about how his father's late-life battle with Parkinson's impacted their relationship
Michael J. Fox is using his final honor to advocate for all those fighting Parkinson's disease.
After the Back to the future star, who was diagnosed with a neurodegenerative disease in 1991, received a Presidential Medal of Freedom for his efforts to find a cure for Parkinson's disease, he shared a glimpse of the Jan. 4 ceremony, during which the president Joe Biden gave him the medal. And with that, he shared a message to everyone who is also fighting his fight.
“On behalf of the million people living with Parkinson's disease and the millions more who love them, I am proud and honored to accept the Medal of Freedom from President Biden,” Fox wrote in an Instagram post from January 6. “I definitely get the most attention in the PD community, but our fight, support and recognition at this level is a big boost.”
Along with his humble message, the Emmy winner shared photos of himself receiving his medal from the president, as well as a sweet family photo alongside his wife. Tracy Pollan and the children Sat35 years old, twins Aquinna And Schuyler29, and Esme23.
