We have some sad news to tell you from the world of reality TV:
Moonshiners Star Kenny Law has died at the age of 68.
News of his death comes from Kenny's cousin Henry Law, who reveals that the Virginia-based distiller died Tuesday at an area hospital.
Kenny Law's cause of death
Unfortunately, Kenny spent a lot of time in the hospital in his later years.
Although no official cause of death has been released, the reality TV star reportedly suffered numerous health issues towards the end of her life.
His cousin says TMZ that Kenny was battling diabetes and suffered a heart attack last year.
Henry Law says these factors, along with a recent blood infection, led Kenny to be hospitalized last week and likely caused his death.
According to TMZ, “Kenny's body became exhausted after battling both the infection and his underlying conditions.”
Henry adds that funeral arrangements have already been made, another indicator that the death was not entirely unexpected.
He told TMZ that a visitation will be held Friday, followed by a graveside memorial service the next day.
A career as an artisan
Kenny was a regular at Moonshiners since the show began airing on Discovery in 2014.
With Henry, he co-ran the Law's Choice Distillery in Franklin County, Virginia.
The cousins continue a 200-year-old distilling tradition, started by their ancestor Amos Law.
Many friends and fans have already paid tribute to Kenny, including his Moonshiners co-star Amanda Bryant, who described the deceased as “a true moonshiner legend”.
“We will miss you very much, it was an honor to know you and call you my friend. Rest easy, big guy. Bryant wrote about Instagram.
“Prayers for the entire Law family during this time. They are all very good friends of mine and my heart breaks for each of them. Rest in peace Kenny Law, much respect to you always.
The fact that Kenny's death was anticipated doesn't make it any easier for those who loved him.
And even though he lived a full life, 68 is still way too young to leave.
