Patrick Mahomes was watching football as wife Brittany prepared to give birth

After announcing the birth their third child, a quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs Patrick Mahomes shared an insight into how he spent his time in the hospital.

Just after the start of the new year, Patrick and Brittany Mahomes welcomed their second daughter Golden Raye into the world on Sunday, January 12.

According to to Sports IllustratedPatrick revealed during the press conference that he made it to the playoffs when Brittany was preparing to give birth.

“I'm just supportive, you know. Brittany nailed it. It was nice to welcome another girl into our family and see how my other kids react to her,” Patrick said.

“It was cool that the football was on TV when I was in hospital so I got to watch a bit,” he revealed.

Patrick and Brittany are also parents to 3-year-old Sterling Skye and 2-year-old Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III.

Patrick was able to participate in the birth of this third child after the Chiefs clinched first place in the AFC, giving them a bye in the first round of the playoffs.

“It was cool that we said goodbye,” he told reporters. according to KSBY“just because you can only focus on being in the hospital and being in the moment.”
