PK Kemsley SLAMS Dorit for calling her a “total alcoholic” on RHOBH!
Paul “PK” Kemsley slam Dorrit Kemsley for labeling him a “total alcoholic,” called her claims offensive, false and thinks she is using his struggles to create a storyline.
“I was shocked, disappointed and upset (about) what Dorit had to say,” PK admitted on Bravo's Hot Mic podcast. “I'm really proud and public about my sobriety and I'm 12 months and two weeks (sober).”
PK revealed that his decision to go public with his sobriety was meant to inspire others, calling it one of the hardest journeys of his life. However, he noted it Dorita the comments reflected a lack of understanding about addiction.
“Dorita's lack of understanding about sobriety is not her fault,” he said. “She hasn't been through a program and hasn't done what I've done. So there's no 'full-blown alcoholic.' Either you're an alcoholic or you're not.
While PK acknowledged that his alcoholism played a role in their marital struggles, he stressed that it was only part of the bigger picture. “If you understand the disease, alcoholism is a symptom. It's not a cause,” he explained. “The truth is, you have to find out what was the cause.”
While watching the premiere episode, PK admitted, was “emotionally difficult”. He thought about it Dorita comments about his past financial struggles, including gambling debts and bankruptcy, which he said were inaccurately portrayed. “The bankruptcy and all the gambling debts were well before I met him,” he explained.
“I haven't gambled since 2008. I don't drink. Bankruptcy was in 2010, (2009) … all that was in the past. PK also addressed the timeline for their divorce, which they agreed to in May of this year. He revealed that he started the split after spotting it Dorita misfortune.
“It was an all-time low and I said, 'This isn't working and we need some time to spend,'” he recalled.
On reflection Dorita claims he is a “total alcoholic” PK corrected my terminology. “I am fully recovered,” he declared. “That's the term: 'full blown'. That's where it should be used.”
Despite the tension, PK expressed sadness, not anger, about his situation. “I never thought that the two of us, the most horrible couple in the world, would ever be in a situation where I would watch this woman that I love, the mother of my children, talk negatively about me on a television show,” he said.
“It's just unusual. It's an unusual concept.”
