The deal also comes nearly a year after Harry won a major victory against Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN) over alleged phone hacking that occurred over a 15-year period in the 1990s and 2000s. In February 2024, a settlement was agreed between Harry and MGN, under which the publisher would cover his legal costs and damages as well as an interim payment of 400,000 pounds ($505,000).
Harry has previously spoken about how important it was to him to hold the tabloids accountable – so much so that it even contributed to his rift with his family, including King Charles And Prince Williamafter what he perceives as his family's refusal to join him in the fight.
