Singer and 'Celebrity Big Brother' contestant dies at 65

Sad news from the music world today, as a truly beloved and extremely gifted singer has passed away.

Linda Nolan – the star best known for her work with pop group The Nolans – died this morning aged 65.

The Irish singer and TV personality was reportedly surrounded by her loved ones as she took her last breath.

“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Nolan, the famous Irish pop legend, television personality, West End star and Guinness World Record holder, Sunday Times bestselling author and columnist for the Daily Mirror”, reads a statement published today by Linda's Diary, Dermot McNamara.

“She died at around 10.20am at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, on the MCEW ward. The family said the hospital couldn’t do enough, that they were tireless,” McNamara continued.

“She passed away peacefully, with her loving siblings at her bedside, ensuring she was embraced with love and comfort during her final moments.

“Linda’s legacy extends beyond her incredible accomplishments in music and entertainment. She was a beacon of hope and resilience, sharing her journey to raise awareness and inspire others. Rest in peace, Linda. You will be deeply missed, but you will never be forgotten.

In addition to her singing – she and her sisters toured with Frank Sinatra in 1975 – Linda gained a new generation of fans through her appearances on such popular television shows as the British edition of Celebrity Big Brother.

Linda Nolan's cause of death

Linda's death follows a battle with breast cancer that lasted nearly twenty years.

Earlier this month, she was admitted to hospital with double pneumonia. She fell into a coma and died this morning.
