The Giant Freakin' Robot Reactivates

GIANT FREAKIN ROBOT is reactivated. Google shut down the site in November, but it's back up in the last month. You don't want to miss it.

I intend to continue to practice full transparency as we go through this process. Here's what happened, what I've done about it, and what I'm doing differently.

The rise and fall and rise and fall and rise of a giant FREAKIN ROBOT

GIANT FREAKIN ROBOT began testing the waters for a return in December. After months of Google's shadow ban (more about what happened here), there were signs that the shadow ban had been lifted.

In the last two years, despite Google, we have been banned and taken down four times telling me directly that there is nothing wrong with this site. The longest and most recent shadow ban lasted nearly four months. At the time, Google told us we weren't going to recover anytime soon. As a result, I was forced to lay off our entire staff and stop publishing.

Although Google told us directly that nothing would be fixed, it now appears that it has. As if we are a mouse and Google is an unusually mischievous cat. From a mouse perspective, it's not fun to play with. It ruins people's lives. That cat doesn't care, of course.

The web giant that controls the internet has decided that people are allowed to read our content again. Not as much as before, we are still limited, but at least it is possible to see something of what we do.

So, Giant Freakin Robot will resume publishing in limited numbers. We won't be able to bring back 90% of our staff, but we will be able to produce new and interesting content more consistently. Until Google stops us again, that is.

Another approach to the return of a HUGE FREAKIN ROBOT

News is over. We will not do this again.

The future of news is on social media platforms like X, where the facts of everything that's happening can be told in a sentence or two. Sites no longer have a place to report. Plus, as any entertainment writer will tell you, the news is what they hate writing the most.

You don't want it, we don't want it, and that's why we don't do it.

Instead, we'll focus on more sophisticated comments, suggestions, discussions and opinions. If it doesn't require more than a sentence or two, we won't write about it. No one should. That's why platforms like it X exists.

Most of what GIANT FREAKIN ROBOT will publish based on what our writers themselves offer. This means that you will only read content on this site about the topics we are the biggest and most passionate about. Writers will submit their stories and we'll let them write whatever they want because we know they want the same things our readers want. Everyone wins.

Above all, we will continue focus on YouTube. It's an excellent platform and the best place to set up shop if you want to survive the web transition to a business-owned business. Zero click internet. ZCI is inevitable; that fight is over.

Independent publishing on a large scale has also now ended. Independent publishers are no longer allowed to compete with large media companies. That's fine with us because their business model based on keyword manipulation is already dead.
