Jason Statham, not one to spend much time not kicking ass, is back with another kick. Amazon MGM has released the first trailer for A Working Man, previously titled Levon's Trade. The big draw here is that Stetham has reunited with the director David Ayer, who was at the helm of last year's actioner The Beekeeper. Apparently, that collaboration went well, as evidenced by this reunion. Check out the trailer above.

A Working Man is based on the book Levon's Trade by author Chuck Dixon. Not to get ahead of ourselves, this is also only the first book in Levon Cade's book series, which means we could be looking at a franchise if all goes well. It's no different than Lee Child's The Jack Reacher books that inspired the Prime Video television show Reacher starring Alan Richson..

It's not for nothing that the official description of Amazon listing for the first six Levon Cade books states: “LeVon is a bad ass. Jack Reacher looks like a transition quarterback.” Does the trailer confirm this? That's up to you, dear reader! Meanwhile, the official synopsis for Ayer's film reads:

Levon Cade left a distinguished military career in black ops to live a simple life working in construction. But when his boss's daughter, who is like family to him, is taken away by human traffickers, his quest to bring her home reveals a world of corruption far greater than he could have ever imagined.

Working Man reunites Jason Statham with some trusted collaborators

Aside from Ayer, also of “Suicide Squad” fame, handling things behind the camera, “A Working Man” also marks a reunion between Statem and his “Expendables” co-star Sylvester Stallone. The “Rocky” and “Rambo” star also takes a behind-the-scenes role in the film, while also serving as co-writer (with Ayer) in addition to producing. This isn't the first time Stetham has appeared in a film written by Stallone, and the actor previously starred in Stallone's 2013 action film Homefront. Suffice to say, the pair have a good, long-lasting creative partnership. It seems like it could be a great fit for Statham at this point in his career.

It's also worth pointing out that Ayer and Statham have made a good pair so far, commercially speaking. “The Beekeeper” earned $152 million worldwide and helped save the box office in a difficult period at the beginning of 2024. Stallone's arrival only seems to further improve the outlook here. At least on paper, everything seems right with this one.

“Working Man” also stars Jason Fleming (“Snatch”), Merab Ninidze (“The Courier”), Maksimilian Osinski (“Ted Laso”), Koki Falkow (“The Tribe”), Michael Peña (“Jack Ryan”) . ), David Harbor (“Stranger Things”), Noemi Gonzalez (“The Valet”), Arianna Rivas (“Release Dates”), Emmett J. Scanlan (“Kin”) and Eve Mauro (“Cypher”). Across the camera, Chris Long, John Friedberg, Bill Block and Kevin King Templeton join Ayer as producers on the film.

A Working Man will hit theaters on March 28, 2025.
