Tom Holland reveals why he skips Zendaya's red carpet walks

While Tom Holland and Zendaya have been one of Hollywood's most loved couples since their relationship went public in 2021, their red carpet appearances together have been extremely rare.

Despite starring alongside each other in the Spider-Man trilogy, fans last saw the pair walking the red carpet together at the 2021 Spider-Man: No Way Home premiere in Los Angeles.

In a recent interview for the January-February 2025 cover Men's healthHolland revealed why he tends to skip walking the red carpet at Zendaya's movie premiere, even though he often visits her to support her backstage.

“Because it's not my moment, it's her moment, and if we go together, it's about us,” Holland said. Men's health. While he didn't go into much detail, Holland stressed the importance of supporting Zendaya while maintaining a sense of respect and space for her moment in the spotlight.

Holland also explained that his connection with Zendaya goes beyond their shared experience on screen, explaining that it “is being able to connect with each other about something very, very unique.”

“It's a little bit more organized, you know where you want to go, and there are restaurants that have little back rooms and things where you can have a more private night,” he added. “But at the end of the day, it's not a struggle. When people recognize you because they like your work, it's pretty wonderful.”

During an October outing in New York, Holland stepped in to protect Zendaya after aggressive paparazzi swarmed around the actress. The incident unfolded when the couple arrived in a limousine and Zendaya stopped to sign autographs for fans.

As the crowd of photographers grew more and more intrusive, Holland quickly intervened, pulling Zendaya to safety and positioning himself as a physical barrier between her and the swarm of cameras. The couple were in town to celebrate the launch of Dutch non-alcoholic beer brand Bero, with Zendaya showing her support at the event.

The duo stepped out in surprisingly matching outfits, with Zendaya rocking a deep red leather Louis Vuitton dress with a plunging neckline and thigh-high slit, teamed with Christian Louboutin heels and a Bulgari necklace. Holland accessorized her look with a burgundy t-shirt, black pants and white Prada sneakers, perfectly embodying their effortlessly chic couple's style.

Holland and Zendaya last shared the big screen in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Holland previously revealed in October that his next appearance as Peter Parker filming will begin in the summer of 2025, and the upcoming sequel will hit theaters in July 2026.

In addition to the superhero reunion, Holland and Zendaya are reportedly set to star in Christopher Nolan's upcoming adaptation of Homer's The Odyssey. According to multiple reports, the film, which is slated for release in 2026, is also rumored to feature performances from Anne Hathaway and Matt Damon.

“To be honest, I don't know anything about it,” Holland revealed “Dish” podcast. “I'm very excited. It's all very, very hush-hush. I met him, it was great. He kind of said freely what it was, and I'm sure when he's ready he'll announce what it is.”
