As fires rage across California, Tyler Perry calls on insurance companies to refuse “millions of policies” during the crisis.

Tyler Perry calls on insurance companies to cancel policies before fire

Tyler Perry shared a long message on Sunday, January 12th Instagram after witnessing a woman using a garden hose to protect her 90 year old parents house due to their voided insurance. The moment prompted the filmmaker to question insurance companies for taking people's money but abandoning them when they need coverage the most.

“Does anyone else find it appalling that insurance companies can take billions of dollars out of communities for years and then suddenly allow millions of policies to be canceled for the very people who made them rich? People who have paid premiums all their lives are left with nothing due to pure greed,” Perry wrote.

In addition, Perry shared his prayers for everyone affected by the fires. He also revealed that he is working to find ways to offer support.
