What Donald Trump had to say about Melania Trump's inauguration hat

It's the hat that everyone is talking about, even Donald Trump.

After being sworn in as the 47th President of the United States at the 2025 presidential inauguration, the Commander in Chief commented on the First Lady. Melanie TrumpThe accessory that stole the scene, a navy blue brimmed hat with a white band designed by Eric Javits.

“We went on the helicopter right before and said goodbye,” Trump told the crowd on Jan. 20 as his wife watched from the stage. “The wind is blowing at full speed, and with the hat she is wearing, she almost flew away.”

“We almost lost her,” he continued to laughter from the audience. “It was raised off the ground. She almost collapsed.

The First Lady's helmet topped a Adam Lippes set consisting of a double-breasted navy silk wool coat and matching pencil skirt, as well as an ivory silk crepe blouse and blue suede heels.
