Hoda Kotb is ready to start a new chapter after saying goodbye to NBC Today.
The TV personality announced on September 26 that he is leaving the morning show after almost 30 years in the network. “I just turned 60, and it was such a monumental moment for me when I turned 60 because I started thinking about this decade, like, what does this decade mean? What does it hold? What's in it for me?” she tearfully announced on air. “And I realized it was time for me to turn the page at 60 and try something new.”
At the time, Kotb also noted that her role as a mother influenced her decision. “My kids were late and I think they deserve more of my time, the pie that I have,” she explained. “I feel like we only have a limited amount of time. Kotb will turn on his run further Today with a special “Hoda-bration” episode January 10, following Craig Melvin i want take over her role how Savannah Guthrie's coankurs. While Kotb hasn't announced any official upcoming projects, she has teased that the next era of her career could take place both on and off the small screen.

Kotba noted that she will remain “within the NBC family” for the next steps in her career at the time of the exit announcement, but did not elaborate on her future with the network.

“I don't know if you've ever had a longing, a calling, a desire, and you can't give it up even if you try because it's safer to work at NBC. … But sometimes you know there's something else you want to try in your life,” she explained. “And the wellness space gets me so excited because I realized what was happening to me. I tried different things and I noticed that my body was calmer. I get sick less. I felt better. I was a better parent, a better friend, a better sister, a better daughter. And I think that all these little things that I do day by day help to change me inside.
Kotb continued: “I want to live in wellness. I want to work in this space. I want to start things. There are things inside of me that hopefully will be fully formed soon.
How will Hoda Kotb spend her free time after 'today'?
In addition to his wellness efforts, Kotb has continuously expressed that he is looking forward to spending more time with his children after his departure. Today. Since moving out of New York earlier this year, Kotb has had the pleasure of experiencing suburban milestones such as took their children to school, taking them on the sly and holiday reception in your new home.
“I'm so excited because the stocking is hanging in a place that you know it's going to be where it's going to be for years – we just decided for the first time where the tree was going to go and we know from this day forward that's where it's going to be – all that cool stuff,” she said on the Dec. 24 episode.
