Zac Bryan slams social media trolls for 'attacking' his friends

Zach Bryan is coming to the defense of his friends after claiming they were attacked online following his breakup Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia.

“Y'all are on the weird couch that soldiers attacking and belittling my friends on the internet because you assume I have a girlfriend is weird and should study science,” Brian, 28, wrote in a lengthy Instagram Story profanity. on Thursday, January 9. “Everybody is wondering why I quit the tour and don't want to be associated with music anymore, meanwhile you call my friends ugly and harass them?

Brian added that he was not looking for “sympathy” but wanted to condemn the “low and disorderly” behavior of going after his friends.

“Apparently I have (had) four different girlfriends in two weeks, meanwhile my friends and I are just laughing and hanging out like always,” he wrote, before clarifying his current relationship status. “I don't have a girlfriend and I don't plan to have one, but I have normal friends who I love very much and would go to the end of the world for.”

Brian continued to rant, urging others to “give your attention and time to the literal burning of the city,” apparently referring to the ongoing fires in Los Angeles.

“Stop being so sad, fickle and childish through screens. That's the last thing I'll say about it. Madness I even have to do,” he wrote. “You don't know me. You never will. Stop acting the way you are.”

The singer added that instead of attacking people in his inner circle, his critics should talk about him because he is dealing with it.

“Love, laughter and good people are allowed in my life. No matter how bad a person you think I am, go ahead and get me. I can handle all the hate because I'm not a kid,” he wrote in the following Instagram Story. “But don't come after my friends who do nothing but love and care for me. Everyone wants you to have fun and make great music but you guys make it hard to do that because my friends get insults and death threats everyday .

Brian said he has “worked really hard” to be successful, but the constant chatter from social media keeps him out of the limelight.

“Whether you think I deserve it or not. Whether you think I'm bullshitting or not. Stop being such sad and fat internet shutterbugs my friends,” he wrote. “We're all human , and I'm so sick of people thinking social media is a way to get the moral high ground on people they've never met? Think people aren't people anymore because they can hide behind screens? Weird man ok i'm done.

Brian wasn't actually done. He shared another note, stating that he doesn't want others to give him advice on how to “deal with something or things that they've never dealt with.”

“I lost my mother, I've been in war zones and I've struggled with this whole fame thing for five years. Sincerely, I don't need your unsolicited advice, I'm a grown man. I promise I can deal with some little bullies on the internet,” he wrote. “I'm not terribly worried about fake ads – people say things about me online – but my bottom line and last straw is to reach out to the people I love and care about.”

Bryan ended his rant by announcing that he was “taking a moment” off social media.

Brian hit the headlines late last year following his dramatic split from Lapaglia, 25. In October 2024, Bryan shared that he and the Barstool Sports personality called it quits after more than a year of dating. LaPaglia claimed that she was “blind” with the musician's public statement.

LaPaglia took a a break from social media after the collapse and Brian is down. A month after the split, Lapaglia returned to her “BFFs” podcast, where she also presented an insight into her dynamics with Bryan and claimed that the musician “emotionally abused” her.
